Delight In Disorder Review by Michael L. Raphael
After all these years this CD is still one of my favorites. I too had the opportunity to be blown away by one of their live shows @ Rick’s Place, in Denton, TX. Pop Poppins has a sound that is completely unique and instantly recognizable. This band is legendary in TX, and numerous better-known artists from TX have covered their songs. Every song on this album is beautiful. The music has a mood that is at once lonely and uplifting. This album has great songs, excellent harmonies, trippy psychedelic guitars, and skilled musicianship all around. Just as a reference point, fans of The Cure and The Smiths will love this music, though it only has trace elements of those influences.
